Staff Child Ratio: 1:15 (program can support up to 30 children total)
The Cathedral Area Coop Daycare is excited to offer a new Before & After Program at our partner location at the corner of Cameron and 13th avenue in Westminster United Church. This program is open to students attending Ecole Connaught Community School. Our program offers families full-time care, which includes PD days and school holidays or care just for PD days/school holiday.
The Cathedral Area Coop Daycare walks children to and from Connaught School each day. On school days in the morning, after a light breakfast, children are provided a short period of time to engage in table top activities before leaving for school. Afternoon snacks are served when children came back from school, and students are then given the opportunity to choose activities based on their interests which may include time spent in the facilities gymnasium.
Programming on PD days and school holidays will run all day, with a variety of activities planned for children to participate in. Use of the facilities gymnasium will also be available on these days, as will group trips to nearby playgrounds and parks, in addition to, field trips to the museum, science centre and other destinations. The Cathedral Area Coop Daycare requires children attending on PD Days and school holidays to provide their own lunch; however, there will be access to a fridge and microwave during these times.
“Schools Out” Day Camp
The Cathedral Area Daycare is known for its quality childcare program and our Summer and “Schools Out” Day Camps are no exception! Our programming is based on best practices and overseen by our skilled and enthusiastic staff. We are conveniently located in the Cathedral Area which provides easy access to parks and business as well as bus routes which allows us to create wholesome experiences for our children to engage in, while exploring the community and the natural environment.
Children 5+ years are welcome! We are open 7:15am – 5:45pm each day. Children must provide a bagged lunch, while we will provide breakfast and afternoon snack.

Before and After School Program Hours of Operation
School Days: Before school – 7:15 am to 9:00 am (simple breakfast provided) After school – 3:35 pm to 5:45 pm (snack provided) NOTE: Due to provincial regulations, no one child may stay longer than a total of three (3) hours per day during these operating periods.
School Holidays/PD Days – Opens at 7:15 am, Closes at 5:45 pm NOTE: A simple breakfast and snack will be provided.
